TRANSFIRMA

2020 Joslyn Castle Art & Literary Festival, soft sculpture installation

tfrma.jpeg

"Transfirma is an outdoor sculpture walk created by 2020 Union Fellow, Michael Elizabeth Johnson. It will be transforming Joslyn Castle grounds and open to the public during their 9th Annual Art & Literary Festival: October 14-18 from noon to 7pm each day, barring inclement weather.

Colorful sculptures accentuate Joslyn Castle’s landscape, transforming it into a strange wonderland. During the walk, visitors are encouraged to look closer at the natural beauty of Omaha. During a year fraught with fear and instability, the soft textures and bright shapes peering out from foliage remind us that change is also a powerful force for good. Though things may never “go back to normal” there is hope in revolution. A better world, without police or prisons, is waiting for us."
